SIUC Women Access and Mentoring Schemes

Spectrum International University College (SIUC) is proud to offer a structured and comprehensive Women’s Access Scheme to promote equitable opportunities in higher education for female learners. This initiative, introduced in 2024, reflects SIUC’s strong commitment to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and is designed to address gender disparities in educational access, participation, and success.

1. Scholarships
SIUC provides full and partial merit-based scholarships tailored for female applicants. Eligibility is determined by academic qualifications (SPM, STPM, A-Levels, Foundation, etc.). These scholarships aim to reduce financial barriers and promote access to quality education for girls and women, especially from low-income and marginalised communities.

2. Mentoring and Counselling
SIUC offers mentoring and counselling services specifically for female students. These include personalised academic coaching, leadership development, mental wellness support, and career guidance facilitated by trained advisors. The programme is designed to enhance women’s confidence, academic resilience, and long-term success.

3. Additional Support Provisions
To further strengthen access and participation, SIUC provides additional support services to address non-academic barriers, including:

Accommodation: Priority access to safe, secure, and affordable housing options near or on campus.
Recreation Access: Inclusive co-curricular and sports activities for women through access to the university’s recreation unit, fostering well-being and campus engagement.
Transportation: Shuttle transportation services to ensure female students can commute safely and regularly attend classes.

Through this inclusive scheme, SIUC demonstrates its institutional commitment to empowering women through education, reducing inequalities, and supporting a gender-balanced academic environment. All services under this scheme are free of charge, publicly promoted, and accessible to all eligible applicants.
