Non-discrimination on Transgender Policy

Spectrum International University College (SIUC) is proud to announce the implementation of its Non-Discrimination Against Transgender Policy, effective January 2024. This initiative is a key part of our long-standing commitment to promoting equality, dignity, and respect for all individuals within our campus community, regardless of gender identity or gender expression.

As an institution that values diversity and inclusion, SIUC recognises the importance of ensuring that every student, staff member, and visitor feels safe, welcomed, and empowered to thrive. This policy formalises our zero tolerance stance against discrimination, exclusion, or harassment based on actual or perceived transgender identity. It applies across all academic and administrative domains including admissions, employment, access to campus facilities, leadership roles, housing, and student life.

The policy outlines five core areas of implementation:

1. Equal Access to Education and Employment
2. Gender Inclusive Admissions and HR Practices
3. Safe and Affirming Environment
4. Support Services and Pronoun Recognition
5. Monitoring and Sensitisation

This policy will remain valid for three years and will be reviewed in 2027. Early reviews may be undertaken if necessitated by institutional changes or national legal reforms.

Through this policy, SIUC aims not only to protect the rights of transgender individuals but to create a model of inclusive higher education aligned with our vision for progressive and socially responsible learning. This initiative also supports SIUC’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 Gender Equality and SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities, by actively reducing systemic barriers and fostering opportunities for all.
