Spectrum International University College Launches Community Open Learning Initiative (COLI) with Free Access to Educational Facilities

Selangor, 30 October 2023 – In a groundbreaking move to promote community learning and inclusivity, Spectrum International University College (SIUC) has announced the launch of Community Open Learning Initiative (COLI), offering free access to its campus facilities, equipment, physical library, and e-library to the public. This initiative, which takes effect this year and will continue until further notice, underscores SIUC’s dedication to providing equitable learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) – ensuring inclusive and quality education for all – this program invites individuals from all walks of life to explore and benefit from the university’s modern resources. Members of the public can access state-of-the-art computer labs, study rooms, and research equipment to support their academic projects, personal growth, or professional development.

“We believe that education should not be confined within university walls,” said Mr Rohan from SIUC. “This initiative allows the wider community to take advantage of high-quality facilities and resources, regardless of formal affiliation with the institution.”

The program also provides access to both SIUC’s physical and digital libraries, featuring an extensive collection of academic journals, e-books, research publications, and more. This access is especially valuable for individuals looking to pursue independent learning and personal development outside of structured academic programs.

Please note that usage of the auditorium and conference rooms is on a first-come, first-served basis, and reservations must be made in advance.
