Strengthening its commitment to inclusive education and community development, SIUC continues to extend learning opportunities beyond the campus through its Bridge of Care community outreach programme. The initiative provides a platform for student-led educational activities, volunteerism and meaningful engagement with local communities, reflecting the institution’s commitment to making education accessible beyond traditional classroom settings.
As part of this ongoing commitment, SIUC participated in Hari Tanpa Kenderaan Subang Jaya (HTKSJ) 2026, working alongside Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ) and AEON to deliver community-based activities at AEON Mall Taman Equine. Through this collaboration, SIUC’s Student Representative Council (MPP) and student volunteers were entrusted with organising and facilitating a children’s colouring competition, creating an interactive educational experience for local children and families.
The activity encouraged young participants to explore creativity, artistic expression, imagination and communication skills through hands-on learning. By providing an engaging environment outside formal educational institutions, the programme demonstrated how community outreach can introduce children to informal learning opportunities while encouraging family participation and positive social interaction.
Beyond benefiting the wider community, the initiative provided SIUC students with practical experience in educational outreach, event coordination, leadership and volunteerism. Through direct engagement with children, parents and community members, students developed essential interpersonal and organisational competencies while strengthening their awareness of social responsibility and the importance of contributing to community development.
The programme also highlighted the value of collaboration between higher education institutions, local authorities and private-sector partners in expanding educational opportunities. By working with MBSJ and AEON, SIUC demonstrated how coordinated community engagement can support accessible learning activities and strengthen connections between students and the communities they serve.
